fairfield county, connecticut-based stephen schoff works is a full-time freelance photographer and web designer.
biographical info:
- 1980, began full-time work as a photographer. arrived via background in fine arts & liberal arts, after 5 years work experience in inernational consumer goods. main interest-fine art black & white photography.
- 1980's, taught photography at photographics workshop, new canaan, ct, brookfield crafts center, south norwalk, ct, (both now closed).
- mid 80's, color transparencies mostly, travel images.
- 1987, discovered the macintosh computer- mac plus with 1 mb ram, no hard drive, 800k floppy.
- 1991, discovered photoshop, upgraded to color-capable macintosh.
- 1993, photography and computer work marry. photoshop becomes a creative tool capable of extending the reach and focus of the lens.
- 1995, discovered the web with purchase of first 14.4 modem.
- 1997, first created coolpix website, first web design/construction for clients.
- 1998, began teaching basics of web design at norwalk community tech, silvermne school of art.
